OUR HISTORY

  

In 1991, Robert "Bob" Robinson founded Non Destructive Evaluation Inc. (NDEI) also known as Non Destructive Evaluation International.


Prior to creating NDEI, Bob had worked for years at a large energy company. One of his roles there was looking after the field equipment, particularly the FRP Boom Lifts, which had been failing and putting the company's employees at risk. Bob recognized the need to understand why these failures were happening and to devise a practical way to test and check the equipment for problems before they occurred.


As Bob delved into the world of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), he sought help from experts with scientific & NDT backgrounds to figure out why the Lifts kept failing. With their guidance, he developed a procedure for testing and inspecting the equipment, which made a substantial difference in reducing the number of equipment failures in the field. Through this experience, Bob's developed a passion for NDT and that led to the creation of an earlier version of our company in the 1980s.  Over the years Bob worked and collaborated with NDT industry professionals to refine our AE knowledge, including Timothy J. Fowler, Jim Blessing and Adrian A. Pollack. In the 1990s, the original company was sold and NDEI was formed with more of a focus on the Piping & Tank/Vessel industry. We owe our long-lasting success to Bob's vision and the scientific minds that helped him create our reliable procedures.  We continue to pursue and further our understanding of the latest technologies and techniques by utilizing the experience and expertise of industry professional such as Dr. Richard Nordstrom to advance our AE capabilities.


Our continuing success and sustained growth stands as a testament to the enduring principles and the vision of our founder, Robert "Bob" L. Robinson (1934 - 2003).
